The height of the car with roof rails is 1,820mm

So you would have to check the height of the multistory carpark prior to entry

Though if your going to be fitting a roof box or bike take this into account as you might leave them on the bonnet of the car following you in Rolling with laughter Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Tonga Green
freelander 1 rails

hi, just bought a new freelander 2, and wanted to know if my complete original LR roof rack system including cross-bars (1,8 XEi 5 Door) will fit onto my new one?

New Model:
S Version
5 Door - No Sunroof

I don't want to spend any more if my old ones will fit some how. even if i can save my cross bars will help.

here's the part numbers i think:
LR006608 for the FLander2
STC7932 for the old one.

thanks for your help

Sorry to disappoint. But neither rails nor crossbars from FL1 are interchangeable with FL2. Sad

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

Hi, Lots of information but I have a question. The Thule roof bars fasten with brackets under the doors but there are 4 (two on each side) holes at the rear which I assume are for fitting bars. Do the FL2 bars from LR use thes and give a full spread across the roof. Question
Thanks

no, these holes are for the rails that the LR bars then fit onto.

Roof Bars

Thanks for that, so I suppose that with the Thule Bars you are only have a bridge of about 100mm as you are restricted to the bars fitting under the doors. With the L/R bars am I right in assuming that you can bridge the lenght of the roof.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Stornoway Grey

Just bought the Thule set up as I will only use bars twice a year and I prefer the look of the FL2 without rails.

I found a very very nice matching roof box if you have Stornoway grey....so most of you! See my gallery for more photos. The also do a metallic black. The finish on the these boxes is superb. Very deep lush paint job for something as simple as a top box.

Kamei make arguably the best top boxes out there...apparantly. Auto express winner 2 years running, beating Thule et al.

www.roofbox.co.uk are highly recommended if you are looking to buy.

Retrospectively I may have gone for a lower longer version of the Kamei as the FL2 is long enough, maybe even the topstar model.

About 220cm high when fitted and although the box looks small here I am 1.82 and I can lie flat it in!!

Roof Rails & Box

After much deliberation (and reading of the previous posts on rails etc..) finally decided to go with the Thule bars (prefer the look of the FL2 without the rails) & a nice glossy black box to match. Very impressed with them Thumbs Up Took a few piccies @ centre parcs whilst on holiday... got called a saddo by my 5 year old daughter !!! Shocked

thank for the extra photos

Been thinking of getting one with our next baby on the way for all those extra bits we need to take

Yours seems to fit the roof area, as its hard to tell from just looking at the different ones in a shop or online Confused

I think i have a link to a company that paints them the same colour as the car too Whistle Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
