I have read lots of good comments for Millers. Might have to give it a try instead of the premium fuels

Millers is 」13 a bottle from Hellfords, or I think about 」11 from Amazon. One bottle is supposed to treat about 10 50L tanks.

Ive been putting double dose (100ml) into a full tank as its the first month ive been using it, and was going to drop to a 50ml dose per tank from next month to see if that makes a backward difference. If it does then Ill keep it at 100ml/tank.

I think the smaller dose is people talking about using Millers fuel additive and not 2SO

Just curious, given the amount of interest on this subject

I'm not going to answer this poll. The main reason to use 2 stroke oil is not to make the engine quiter, not even to reduce consumption. You should read the main topic about 2SO and try to understand it. If you did, your poll questions would be completely different and interesting.

According to the original post on the use of 2SO it was suggested it be used in a ratio of 200:1 or 300ml in a 70 litre tank.

Freelander tank approx 60 litres to fill so amount I once calculated ought to be around 260 mls.

So 250 mls works out neatly giving 4 fills per litre of 2SO, (and happens to be the size of the drinks bottle I decant into).

I don't suppose using 200mls or 330mls makes too much difference though I always felt that IF the use of 2SO had been worked out accurately as optimum at 200:1 then that's what I should use. Using less seems to risk failure of optimum benefit and using more just costs more and probably confers no added benefit.

For sure, I never could quite understand the arguments that it could be harmful.

It is the lubrication benefits and a cleaner burning engine that I am after and the fact that my emission test result was reduced at MOT after about a year of use was enough encouragement for me to carry on using it! Very Happy

Well thus far great results using TSO in my 07 Audi A6 3.0Tdi quattro (non-dpf).

In my 11.5 mile commute to work was achieving a regular 40-42mpg, am now getting 44-46mpg in 0-6 degree temps. Journey takes the same time at the same average speeds Smile

Found that my local motor factors sells 5l of TSO for 」14.99, and because my brimmed tank is 85l am adding 500ml at each full tank. So as an additive it's working out at 」1.50 per tank.

Also have noticed a lot less carbon on exhaust tips, since I have straight out polished SS quad pipes I keep them clean and not only are the deposits a lot easier to clean but there is less of it.

I have this afternoon taken the plunge and added 300ml to my full tank. Just for fun, I thought that I would go the whole hog and add a shot of Millers Eco Diesel Max. More as the week pans out........ Foraging near Gaydon....

I've been running on TSO for two years and EGR blank for 1 year , my MOT examiner says that my Freelie is running very clean with low emissions. If I run on supermarket diesel and if I miss the TSO then I quickly see poor fuel consumption. Normal is a fill up from low with JET diesel and 300 ml TSO .
