Yes indeed, I went to a LandRover dealer last weekend and have become disillusioned with the whole brand. What I saw were vastly overpriced cars which in my experience are pretty unreliable and the new ones are not as capable as the adverts suggest off road. Also interesting that the warranty period is still only three years whilst a lot of cars are offering 5 or 7 year 100kmiles.

Number of people who will occasionally need a couple of extra seats in the back: quite a few

IS there a FL2 | DS side by side picure where the FL2 has no body kit or other exterior "upgrades"?

I had uploaded one, there it is:
As I mentioned front car size is very similar. At the front and at the rear there are similar. The most difference is side view (lower roof line in DS). I am surprised about how different driving position is. Please notice that FL2 is located a little farer to the photographer (me). In the DS you are unable to see all bonnet when driving. I will upload the second photo later. Last edited by pporocki on 18th Feb 2015 10:29 am. Edited 2 times in total |

BTW. I saw Mercedes GLK a few days ago and looks like space under opened tailgate (at the center) is even higher than in FL2. I am not sure about Disco Sport but as far as I remember it tailgate opening level was lower than in FL2. |

So what do we know about the similarities between FL2 and DS mechanicals, same engine, gearbox, haldex etc ? Anyone have an under bonnet view? |

I currently have a £50k Evoque auto SD4 courtesy car sitting on the drive and I can't believe that anyone would spend that sort of money on it. |

Off the top of my head: * Platform is the Evoque's LR-MS, which is a re-work of the FL2's Ford EUCD platform. The only major change I'm aware of is the redesigned rear suspension, done to allow space for the third row of seats. * Engines are the same as the FL2/Evoque - Ford/Peugeot 2.2 litre diesel and Ford 2 litre turbo petrol. Ingenium coming, of course. * Gearboxes are the same as the Evoque - ZF 9-speed auto or Getrag 6-speed manual. 9-speed auto replaces FL2's 6-speed. * Haldex is now Gen 5. (FL2 Gen 3/4.) * Optional Active Driveline allows the rear drivetrain to be disconnected (giving 2wd) for economy. What have I missed? |
