Warkmann, I didn't say anything about it not being a proper Land Rover and nor, so far as I can see, did anybody else. My point was that the new design doesn't meet my specific needs. Doubtless LR has done all the focus group and car clinic stuff and is confident that there are plenty of customers for it but, I'm not one of them. |

Excuse my ignorance but can you get a full size spare in the back of a DS? |

Not yet as the wheel well has the +2 seats folded into it - When the 5 seater version comes out there will be a spare wheel well. You can't fit a space saver either at the moment. Of course the boot is large enough to carry a full size spare if you don't carry anything else. _________________

So poor underbody protection and no spare wheel. They obviously don't expect to sell many to people with jobs requiring off road capability. I can see me buying another FL2 or something other than a DS in a year or so.

You can have a space saver spare plus the 3rd row seating. The spare is carried underneath as per the larger Disco.

So when you have put your space saver spare on , where do you put your punctured wheel? |

This is where it gets complicated, the centre section of the rear bumper which hides the towing eye etc has to be removed as I understand it for the full size alloy to fit.

All LR had to do was make the 3rd row optional as it is in Australia and practically every other market. I'm sure there would be a few more takers. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

I think there will be once the initial excitement has gone, the three models they have released are high spec models, this time next year I think we will see different models. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Had about 20 punctures over 30 odd years. All but 1 in the city streets or other sealed roads, mostly in the city, & I don't thrash the car. One of the city blowouts was a complete disintegration of the tyre at only about 60 kph, luckily! The one puncture in the country was only a few years ago at Boarder Ranges NSW Australia where a sharp stone went through an almost new tyre, got a replacement at Kyogle as soon as possible & in the meantime only drove 20 kph max on the unsealed road. They said it happens all the time around that area. Biscuits are a real pain, would never get a car without a full size spare wheel again. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device! 4x4 type tyres seem to be susceptible to punctures from screws, nails and the like - possibly because the chunky tread can flip them upright, then they puncture the tyre. I can't remember when I last had a puncture in a 'normal' car, but I've had a few in the various 4x4s, including a bolt through the tread of a Wrangler on the FL2. Fortunately that one occurred just as I was planning to replace the tyres anyway. |

Took one of our FL2s into the dealer (again) today for the rear diff problem. Whilst there I had a look at a Disco Sport and noticed that the boot lid wouldn't open, I wonder if they were trying to dissuade people from looking inside?

I doubt they are trying to put people off. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |
