Hawkeye is good kit, but not so sure about Kwikfit as must admit nearly 20 years ago had new tyres fitted on my company car by them. Company insisted we use them against the wishes of most of us as they had a shocking reputation then and 150 miles later on the M1 terrible vibration so recovered to nearest Vauxhall dealer, given a loan car to complete journey to site and on collecting car that evening informed that wheel nuts had not bee torqued up correctly. Put me off ever using them again as we were going right on the limit and if we had ignored the vibration and wheel had parted company we could have not been here now They may be better now but still hear storys and would rather go to an idipendant if you have one in your area with a Hawkeye. I agree with Bill - the words "bargepole" and "not touch with" come to mind.

Very common in the snow. I also slipped up last week, damaging the n/s wheel. Noticed on the motorway that the tracking was out as the steering wheel wasn't straight. Sorted by kiwk fit the next day.

Understood about KF. The check is free - so I will see what they say. Will update this when it has been checked. |

Ok, had the car checked and although the bumped wheel was fine, front and back on the passenger side both had a couple of readings in the red. All corrected for £65 (£44 for front and £21 for back). Better that than new tyres later on. |
