Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Santorini Black
New Member

Hello to all,
just found this forum today whilst searching the net for info re steering rack problems with FL2's. Bought mine in 2009 from a dealer to tow my caravan. The car is an ex-demo, TD4 GS with auto box and full leather upgrade. Some problems over the years with window sensors, central locking and now the steering rack, but otherwise a nice vehicle to drive and a very able tow-car. Now has 46,000 on clock and getting to age where more serious problems will no doubt surface. Have already read a lot of the posts and am impressed with the info available. Wish I had found forum earlier.

England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Orkney Grey

Hi to All,

As per many of you I have been dipping in and out of this forum for quite a long time. Which I must say thanks to a lot of you for some very sound advice.

I bought my second freelander just over a year ago.

My first was FL1, Y plate ES model in which i did over 65k and sold it September 2013 with over 150k on the clock. Following sound advice i changed my tyres on it to BF Goodridge and i did over 45k on one set (they still had another 10k or so left on them when i sold it).

I currently drive a 63 plate SD4 GS with a couple of extras. I have hit 19K so far from new and just changed my tyres to General Grabbers AT's.

I guess I will be of no help here what so ever as I am not mechanically minded (even though I wish I was as I find it very interesting) although I am pretty practical, however I do drive a fair bit from the SW to the SE so if I can help in transporting in anyway, please shout.

Hopefully thats not too boring. thanks for reading, Mark

Germany 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Sumatra Black
A dutch Freelander 2 owner leaving near Hamburg says hello

Hi guys, I'm a happy owner, as of this monday, of a nice Black 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE.

Ofcourse the car's not new anymore and has some small problems like the Sunroof blinds not closing fully and the slightly leaking third brake light. Shocked
No worries though. Thanks to Youtube I already found out how the remove the brake light, its seems the rubber seal is a bit under dimensioned... For the blinds i will try to clean the rails and ad some WD-40 (every real man has WD-40!) Hope to sort this out in the upcoming weekend Thumbs Up

It drives like a dream though. I already has 139.000 KM on it but still looks and feels like a new car... Very Happy Love the beige leather trim interieur, It feels like a small Range Rover to me... Cruising along.....Looking down on al the normal cars... great overview, great comfort.

Well, I hope I will be dropping by a lot to share and collect Information and knowledge on the LaRo Freely 2.

cheers,

Tom

Hi all. New Freelander 2 owner...looks good parked next to my disco in the garden (don't have much in the way of a drive so both cars get to go off-road even when at home). Don't plan to change anything and have used the same local independent LR garage for years but searching online for info on how people had fitted dashcams lead me to the bulletin board here. A wealth of interesting information which will prove useful when I get around to changing tyres and the like.

Hi all,
new to the forum after finding it just before xmas.
Its a credit to you all some great info about. Very Happy
currently have a 2011 sport le Fuji white since last September.
7th LR product to date, not mechanically minded so you might get some strange questions!
All been fine so far apart from my freely1, 60,000 troublefree miles then all hell broke loose! Evil or Very Mad
I will post some pics in the near future. just wondering if any one has sport le on forum?
Taztastic looks like I could be from near your area, the photo of crash you posted on m65 looked like one of the burnley junctions, correct me if I'm wrong. from that area originally but based in ni at the moment. it would be good to do a "breakfast" meet with some members from around there next time I'm in uk Very Happy

Cheers
Matt
