United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black
Hello everyone

Hi and thank you for allowing us to join were currently on our second LANDY and love them to bits. We are heavily involved in geocaching and having the confidence of go anywhere anytime makes the freelander perfect for us.
Sadly we stumbled across your site amidst the despair of multiple faults but hopefully that'll be just one of those things and won't spoil our long term ownership.

Portugal

Hello to all, I am from Portugal and I just found this forum today.
I have a Suzuki Samurai since a long time ago and always wished a Land Rover.
That's why i thought that a FL2 would be a good option.
But, I was trying to find if there some problems with the auto gear and found some comments that gave me some concerns.
I'm going to see this one but with no comfort.
Thanks

Hi Jorugo. I used to have a manual SE and now have an auto HSE. The SE is a good, well specified model. The one you are looking at also has all leather upholstery with armrests and electric memory seats. This was an extra in the UK on the SE. I see it also has the HSE 18" wheels fitted. The Auto gearbox works well for me. It has a "memory" and learns your driving style, changing gear at the best times accordingly. You need to drive it on test for a long distance if possible to make it work well for you. Do not be too concerned by all the tales on here. The FL 2 is the most reliable Land Rover you can buy! You will always see more faults on a forum than is normal, because owners go to forums when they have a problem!

Good Luck!

Portugal

Dunkley
thank you for your help.
Yes, the seats, the wheels, GPS screen and the roof are extra too here in portugal.
I know that in a forum we only see the complaints. Although that, the assistance is too expensive that is the main concern. The owner told me that the auto gearbox had a total failure when the car had 80k kms. The new one was included in the warranty.
I'm going to try the car and then I will tell the conclusion.
Thanks

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

Hi, I have a Freelander 2 GS Td4 on an 11 plate.
The passenger door will not lock or unlock remotely: I understand this is a common fault.
Any help or suggestions would be most welcome. - Thanks

H Feastie. Welcome to the forum. This is the "Say Hello There" thread (not faults). I have not had a door lock fault so cannot help. However, for common faults, do a search using the "Search" button at the top of the page. If you cannot find the answer, post a new thread in the relevant section, ie "Technical" for instance. You will soon get the hang of it Wink
