In the snow shots, what is the thing on the roof to the N/S by the spoiler ?. Not the shark fin, the other bit. |

The shots are press cars in Iceland, I'm assuming it's GPS tracking device.

It looks like gps or phone antennae that you used to get for car kits. If it is a press shot or similar then maybe the drivers are running extra kit inside |

Looks very nice... Following last weeks test drive our dealer has just phoned asking if I would like to place an order. Unluckily for him Mrs EdamBall took the call. |

Hi all, first post in a long time....... I read through this thread back to Mav's strong defence of the DS where he countered some of the thoughts I have had about the Freelander 2 replacement. I can accept the new shape, though have concerns about how the lower roofline will impact on practical carrying capacity. Ditto the lower driving position, is it still 'a Command?' But the big increase in price against my current HSE is hard to justify. Have build costs at Halewood increased that much, does updated technology cost significantly more?? I think LR are taking the proverbial P in moving the Freelander replacement to a different price point and will lose a large chunk of their market, those that would pay £22 to £25K for a fairly basic, but very effective 4 X 4. Why do UK buyers have to wait for a 5 seat version, or a full size spare with a tow pack?? Why are there not lower spec, lower price models on offer yet?? In time, once the new engines are in place and one year old five door examples, preferably with a petrol option are in place I will look at a DS. In the meantime I will hang onto my 4.5 yr old FR2 and if need be move to an aging Disco 4, even though it will be a bit big for London...... Happy New Year everyone.... JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

The price is a bit steep, but the Fl2 went from £22k to about £27k over night.

L/R are doing what they do best now, making money. (For India). The price hike is being greedy, but if people want to spend that sort of money on a car which is obviously over priced then good luck to them.
