Probably because the UK market is not the biggest, in fact the UK accounts for around 15% of sales across LR products, Freelander will be less than that. We are the small fish in a big pond. |

Finally got my invitation to DS (& other LRs) Ride & Drive event at Petworth hosted by Harwoods on 23/24th Jan. Only 30 mins long drive time apparently despite previous salesman pitch that this second event of theirs would give us a longer and broader try-out than the launch ones in Dec. Seems my email invites were all being sent to my old email account; wondering if I need to request a different sales guy for the future, current one has been less than impressive in all my DS dealings so far including requesting a huge deposit!

I did the Harwoods Amex event last year and they programmed a route into the sat nav for all cars (LR, Jag, Aston & Bentley). The route was A27 to Devils Dyke roundabout then back on A27 to falmer !. Route took less than 10 minutes all on dual carriageway. Needless to say turned sat nav off and went for a little B road spin

I don't think you will be dissapointed, it's very nice to drive. I wasn't sure about it until I finally got my hands on one, my drive was 45mins but the did only have a couple of cars to go round everyone.

Not according to what I was told at JLR last week, we are still the second or third biggest market. Their words though, not mine. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

The way figures are interpreted makes a huge difference, both the above statements are on the same press release. The U.S. in the first statement appears the lowest market, in the second they make a statement that makes it look one of the best? The U.S. is possibly more profitable, so the source claiming we are second or third, I think he means fourth, it's all spin. Globally all the other markets have room for massive expansion, the UK has scope for a little expansion, JLR will continue to chase the bigger markets and we will have to accept the product built to their needs. |

Point taken taztastic, except your bizarre final words "JLR will continue to chase the bigger markets and we will have to accept the product built to their needs"; so we the customers are secondary to their (LR or other Markets) needs?! Really?

Hi Nick I could have put it better, I mean that we will have to put up with the needs of other markets, not JLR's needs. The car is built to suit overseas markets, I often wonder at the placement of the exhaust, it's on the wrong side for our market, spitting fumes closest to the pavement, little things but a sign that other markets are dictating the design. The new car certainly does seem to have its critics on here, centered around the seating, which is odd, and the lack of spare wheel, which these days isn't that odd. Can anyone remember the questions on the LR product survey? From memory it didn't ask about seats and wheels, it was more multimedia centric. |
