I agree.

I don't like the sport name, we've had the Fl1 Sport, Fl2 Sport, RRS and now Disco Sport come LR surely someone could've came up with something more imaginable. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

The Range Rover became the Full Fat Range Rover when the sport came into being, I imagine that the next Discovery model will also take on this naming convention, although with its more modest and plebeian roots may become the Big Fat Discovery Laughing

I agree with the sentiments though, Sport is a little far fetched, if they stuck to a simple numbering convention then there wouldn't be any pre conceptions in the name becoming a let down when the reality is somewhat different.

The Disco Evoque is still to come Laughing

Then it's

Full Fat Defender
Defender Sport
Defender Evoque

Laughing

The DS does have a more sporting drive, kind of. I just think Sport is a name used to make entry level cars appear more desirable than they are. It just comes across as a poor model year enhancement, my brother had a Focus LX with alloys and leather steering as options the following year it was a Sport with the options as standard. That will only be on HSE Lux models Laughing

Then everyone will add it as a mod, so will be added the following year as a model year enhancement, then be taken off on run out models before the all new cars released with the same chrome arse piece with some fancy name like noble finisher and the cycle starts again. Then we have a whole new mod as someone will find out that with a few nips and tucks the noble finisher can added to the old car in lieu of the old cars chrome arse piece.

Oh my one is coming with a gloss black arse piece. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

GLOSS!!! That's just so tacky j77.
Surely the whole JLR ethos for the full fat Defender Evoque LWB Cabriolet Vogue Coupe Roadster Sport must be that the chromed harse piece will be finished in MATT black, at extra cost of course....... this is a premium vehicle for premium people...... not poor tossers like me.

Sorry, it's a Narvik black tailgate finisher, standard on all but HSE Lux which gets atlas finisher.

This will be the first and last for a long time. This one will have to stay until it rots, it's the most I've spent on any car. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Relieved by that j77, Narvik, that's the stuff. You just don't see much Narvik about at the cheap end of the market. A touch of class.
I wonder does the rot come as a standard fitting under such pieces of finisher bling or is the rot an optional aftermarket accessory?
I once had a nice low mileage Triumph 2000 with a bright red finisher on some of the panels - added timbre to the main body work colour which was rust. LR Nut must have been down my way a few times spreading Triumph 2000 dissolving product. But the DS will of course happily shrug of such muck by means of an active intelligent electronic software gizmo.

I think the tailgates plastic as per the Evoque, so it should be fine. Laughing

But being Loire Blue the finisher should blend in, I'm not overly keen on the large chrome finisher on the Fl2.

You guys are distracting me from what I'm supposed to be doing, hunting for insurance for the D4, it's £100 dearer than last year Rolling Eyes 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
