I'm normally to be found on DISCO3.CO.UK but used to own a FL2 before it was written off while towing my horse trailer . I thought the FL2 was a great car, if a little small for my needs.

I've come across to sell my mats and load-space cover (which have been sitting around for a while now ) with Martin's permission, of course.

New to this forum but not new to Land Rovers.

Ive had the following
2001 Freelander 1 TD4 Auto GS 3 door (fitted LR roof rack+spots, AT tyres, full dog guards)
2004 Freelander 1 TD4 Auto SE 3 door (fitted LR roof rack+spots, AT tyres, bumper bar, driving lamps)
2000 Discovery TD5 GS Auto (fitted A bar+ spots, exped roof rack + ladder)
2007 Freelander 2 GS manual (standard)
2008 Freelander 2 GS manual (fitted with factory roof rails, X bars, factory tints, panoramic roof, front parking sensors and just retro fitting Garmin sat nav and Parrot kit)

As you can see I kind of like my green oval

If it wasnt for the amount of time I spend on tarmac I would love a Defender SVX soft top

looking forward to picking up some hints and tips from the more knowledgable guys on here and hopefully passing on anything useful i pick up along the way

Morning all, Just wanted to say hi. I'm Tim and I've now got a Freelander 2, a bit of an upgrade from my previous ford fiesta.
I've owned the Freelander for 2 months now, absolutely love it but I'm finding a few problems so came on here to talk to other like minded people and see if anyone else has the same issues.

Just bought my first LR FReel2, TD4 GS.E and added mudguards, Stainless steel underbody, LandRover rubber mats, Spare wheel, and some tools. Put a bit of Redex in the tank as someone said it'll help. The photo is take before my additions.

Dont know anything about Land Rovers, or Mechanics, but Am really enjoying my first LR. its got 39000 miles on the clock, I bought it from a large dealership, Im the second owner, but its still go the duckworth badge on it. 2010 plate

Any hints, or tips or suggestions would be welcome. Also wouldnt mind doing a bit of greenlaneing, tagging onto any local fellas who could show me a few things. [Im 41]

Morning All, Colin here, another noob Freelander owner, finally parted with the readies and bought a 131k 2007 TD4 HSE. Very pleased so far, at least it's not a lemon!

Passed it's first service with no issues. Had the 4 oils changed at my brother in laws suggestion as well. Next up will be the cam belt I guess before 150k, proabaly when the MOT expires in March.

Frosty weather has highlighted heated front windscreen may not be working. I had an Escort 1.6 years ago which had a heated front screen and my hazy memory feels it was a lot faster than this TD4. Fuses are okay, so I'll do a screen only heat next frost, with the fan turned off and see if it clears.

Planning to do the brakes all round before the MOT as well. Be nice to get my hands dirty again, a while since I did any work on a car. Any preferred/favourite parts suppliers?

Also wanted to change the wiper bladess as rear especially not fully cleaning the screen. Euro Car Parts seem to have supplied the wrong blade as the fitting is nowhwere near whats on the wiper arm. I'll be taking them back but wondered if there is a specific term for the type of wiper fitting on the FL2?

It's also pretty filthy with the recent weather and I can see the black paint might benefit from a good polish. Any recommendations for a mild cut/polish or is T-Cut still favoured?

No doubt there will be some other dozy questions to come, so please forgive me in advance!

Hi there outnabout2005, ROVER and others - welcome to the forum. This is definitely the best place for FL2 info!

Best not to ask Q's on the intro thread, however. Responses make it untidy! Try the forum search facility first for your initial questions. (most of which will have been answered already in the past 7 years!) You should find it quite helpful. If you really cannot find your answer, start a thread in the relevant section. There have been recent threads on heated screen, brakes, etc for instance.

Hi All

just joined but have been a HST owner since 08, best car we've owned!

Had the usual issues, AM not working on ICE (it's getting left), rear diff drone (it got replaced).

Going to search the index for tailgate issues, if I don't find what I'm looking for I'll be back asking silly questions
