Looking to buy a FL2 - A few questions

Hi All,

First post!

Looking at buying a 4 or 5 year old FL2, probably a HSE auto.

I looked at one the other day at a garage and noticed a bit of turbo whistle when I blipped the throttle. Is this normal or could the turbo be on the way out? I didn't get to drive it as it was boxed in by about 5 other cars.

Also Is it true the newer 2011+ TD4/SD4 auto would be 6 or 7 mpg better than the older TD4 auto? Not sure I really want to stretch to later engine but if it is that much more economical then I may consider it (or wait to see if prices drop in the new year when the new Disco Sport starts selling)

Thanks.

I doubt if the price will drop that much anytime soon. Perhaps they would if the new model was called Freelander 3 but there will be plenty that want a new or nearly new FL2 as it's the last Freelander which could well hold values! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.
(Past) RR Evoque Dynamic Lux Si4 In Firenze Red.
(Past) RR Evouque Pure Tech in Barollo Black with bespoke Firenze Red colour coding.
(Present) Freelander Metropolis 2015 MY In Santorini Black with Ivory Premium Leather.

Deposit placed today!

Can someone tell me if it is possible to code the memory seat / mirror positions to the individual key fobs?

No. The seat has 3 pre-settable options. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

yes, the two key fobs hold their own information re the three seat settings and mirror settings.

Not on mine, Ian. The seat holds the memory. Use either key, the seat does not move until you press "memory" and "1", "2" or "3".

That's right, there is no individuality with the two key fobs.
