It was heated steering wheel cold weather this morning

Just a reminder to switch the auto wipers off to prevent the wipers sticking to the frozen screen till they have defrosted

bit of extra air in the tyres to keep the pressure too

I put mine on yesterday, not so much because they're needed yet but because I had a bit of spare time. That's about the extent of my winter prep, apart from ensuring that there's a blanket in the back! (Things like a tow rope and folding snow shovel live in the car all the time.)

I've never had to use them yet, but up here the blanket and shovel are good to have on board. Mind you, the folding shovel is only for unanticipated emergencies - if there's snow forecast I put the full size version in the back!

I'm debating an early change of the Wranglers, they are probably running just over 4mm so decisions decisions! Also got a little bag of goodies in the boot to make a brew, some food along with all the usual tow strap etc.

If you do any long distance motoring the blanket in the back is a good idea, which I have plus my walking boots if you really have to abandon it, but also in my boot bag is a previously used (to use a car salesman's term) jam jar which contains several night lights and a box of matches.
It is surprising how much heat and light one of these will generate when placed on the floor of the passenger foot well so you can keep your fuel for real emergency conditions like some experienced when snow hit the motorways last year. But it is essential to keep a window cracked open.

Spray all door/boot seals etc with seal spray otherwise they rip apart in a really cold frost. I have replaced 2 seals because of frost. This also makes opening all the doors much easier.

IMO the best thing you can do on this cold wet mornings is
Get the wife up early to warm the car up nice and toasty, 😇😇
