It happens quite a lot there are posts on here about a fix,I remember people saying it's pretty tricky,if you are buying from a dealer get them to sort it for you. |

Unfortunately I'm buying from an independent in Sheffield called Cloverleaf Cars. How much should I expect to pay for a repair at a dealer? I may be able to negotiate on the price of the car to compensate.

Independant or main, they're still a dealer and they have an obligation to sell you a vehicle complete and in working order so tell them you want it working before you collect it. |

I've been in touch with a couple of Land Rover dealers and as expected they've stated the whole vent needs to be replaced. The left centre vent is approx £66 plus VAT and the right vent is £26 plus VAT. Fitting is minimum 2 hours labour.

Just had a look at the car on their website looks very tidy but in case you hadn't spotted it, the load cover in the boot is also also missing. Judging by the number of Land Rovers I would guess that they are selling on vehicles from a local main dealer taken in part/ex. Hope it goes well for you. |

Yes apparently they are part ex cars from a local dealer. I have an Audi A6 Avant at the moment which also has a roller load cover however I have to remove it to allow fitment of a dog guard. I assume this will be the case with the Freelander as I'll be using the same guard which attaches to the rear head restraints.

OK you will probably find that they take the chrome vent things off another Freelander too. I wonder what they will do when they sell their last Freelander and how many parts are missing from it? |

Can I ask where you got the silver bits from as I need the middle two. Had the car two weeks before I realised they were missing! |
