The wheel nuts have a captive washer on them, do they spin when new?

Dump the locking ones whilst you are at it |

Are the FL2 lockers as problematic as those on the D3?, if so mine will be for the trash. FL2 SD4 Metropolis Auto Santorini Black / ivory completely stock.

Why would I do that? I don't want to risk the wheels being stolen. Andyfr |

Why? I've not had a problem with mine but then I don't let any tyre monkeys and their air wrenches near them. I also always use a torque wrench to tighten them, and the locking nuts are the first to be undone and the last to be done up. |

The Discovery ones are different, mine have been changed, but never heard of a problem with the Freelander ones. |

I changed mine on the disco because they were corroded but I think they are a much better design than the mcguard ones fitted to the freelander! |

Is there more than one type of wheel nut? I have some older wheels for my winter tyres and they don't seem to fit as well, the bolts stick out more. |

When I was looking at replacing my locking wheel nuts McGard list two different thread lengths, something like 22mm and 39mm IIRC. |
