They did not used any 2SO, because they feared that the aux heater will clog. So i ask here, users with aux heater, did you have got any problems with the aux heater?

No problems with my Aux heater.

As wizking stated, you would be doing nothing wrong and tests are not by colour alone.

Thanks for the quick replies! I figured, that this would be the case (no worries), but had to ask just to put my mind at ease.

Just a quick pic for the naysayers. This is a litre of standard petrodiesel with a syringe measured 5ml of bright red Asda 2SO added:

As you can see, the colour change is virtually imperceptible.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Stornoway Grey

Only caught this thread by accident. Having read a few of these pages,
First, thanks to those who've read all and summarised. Saved me hours
Second, thanks to those brave souls who tried it (I'm not car-mechanically minded so wouldn't have had the bottle without you)
I've ordered the TSO from Amazon as per the link a couple pages ago (thanks Steve C) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Comma-TST5L-Wheel-...stroke+oil

Fingers crossed this might just reduce the radius of woken neighbours on a cold winters morn Very Happy

What's a diesel parking heater?

A parking heater that runs on diesel fuel, like Webasto or Eberspaecher.
I am using 2so fast 2 years from now and i plan to install an Eberspaecer. Like many today's common rail diesel engines, they do not produce much wasted heat to heat up the cabin. In winter, most time is below -15c here and in Jan, Freb and March is common -25c at nights. Some cars have PTC ceramic heaters in HVAC systems but mine does not.

A few Estonian adventures went to Siberia two years ago, they sayd that they can not use 2so because it can clog the aux heater and had fuel stability problems, but no aux heater in -45c is very bad.

Never been in Siberia with my Freelander, but I've got an Eberspaecher aux.heater installed since 2010 and add 2-stroke oil at every fill-up. Winters here in Latvia are also not the mildest ones and I never experienced a filter-clog or other problems. Quite on the contrary, engine runs smootly and quietly after cold starts..

I've been using it for years and need no convincing of its benefits.
I'm simply asking for more information about the results and opinions of this poster's experience, out of interest.

It's only been 1.5km between filling up and home, so far.
