No refunds from Phones4U

Always pay by credit card for expensive stuff no matter how much cash you have in the bank, then pay the bill instantly. Auto protection against this. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Only if it's more than £100 I believe. Phones 4U took £99 deposits. Naughty.

My credit card company offered to pay up £17 once. I had one last email attack on the company in question and they caved in and refunded so I didn't need to bother. Not a lot of money but it's the principle. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Those that try to get their £99 back may be lucky and be refunded by their CC company as a goodwill gesture but if not, they won't have any automatic rights under the law. Not fair really.

Edit: With a bit of luck they may have ordered the 6 plus and should consider that a lucky escape. Every cloud and all that..... Whistle

Agreed. S.75 is the relevant section. Of course, as they are in administration, the secured creditors get first shout and the customers are way down at the bottom of the pecking order. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

In this case of under £100, it would have been better to pay by debit card, and used 'chargeback' where you pursue your bank for any monies above £10. Been in force for a few years now and I successfully got my money back from the 'Halifax' when Go Ballooning went bust.

A local undertaker business has recently gone bust. A rival company was running their business into the ground.

Last week I saw the director of 'Phones4u' outside one of his branches, he said "from now on, I am going to concentrate on the big issues"

Today I saw him outside of ASDA, and he sold me a copy!
