Spiders

With all the talk of spiders invading our homes, my house is covered in webs and spiders, fortunately this one lives in the hedge, eating a hornet this afternoon, one it caught earlier appears to have been wrapped and saved for later.
Wish I had a macro lens now...

There was a spider in our house last night so big that when I tried to hit it with the paper, it took the paper off me and hit me with it Laughing

Actually, I never kill them. Always catch and release outside. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

It's body is about the size of my thumbnail, it's the biggest I have seen round here, it's about 5ft into the hedge so I can't reach or I would put my finger next to it....honest Laughing

Looks like a Garden Spider and maybe a Furrow Orb-Weaver? npinks one is a bit hard to tell....

Araneus diadematus and Larinoides cornutus respectively. (Google is your friend!!)

All I know about the Garden Spider is that if it sits in its web upside down, then it's a female.....
