Right, I have a 2011 facelift FL2 with the Alpine stereo (I believe it is amped) and the aux input in the rear centre.

Does the aux input go to the rear of the head unit? That may be easier as it sits directly bell the cubby hole, as for power, very easy to come off F5 in the passenger footwell and put a socket in the back of the cubby with a low profile USB socket in it.

This would be ideal, fitted straight into the back of the cubby box and the power from a flying lead piggy back type fuse from F5 in the footwell.

Thanks for all the tips. Djwhyte is the closest to what Im trying to do. Although there's no need for Bluetooth audio if I can get an audio cable down into the stereo.

Pretty simple. You would need to take the cubby out and drill a hole large enough for the plug to go through. If you do this in the base the rubber mat will cover it if you ever need to reverse the procedure. Look at the retrofit TomTom thread for full details. http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic12741.html Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Indeed, although that loom includes more than just the AUX connector. The eBay thing I linked to just provided a 3.5mm headphone plug on the end, which you could connect into your phone. You could also connect a USB charger to the F5 fuse as shown in the thread linked by pastmaster and pass this all through a small hole drilled in the cubby box. Should sort you out nicely. 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame. |

Will take another look at that bit of kit. I should add I'm not using an iPod/iPhone. |
