570 miles from the current tank, but running on fumes now. 500-ish is the norm.

when tank full dash indicated 490 miles to empty. Had a run from east Hampshire into deepest depths of Dorset yesterday 120 miles each way and returned 42 mpg indicated and 40.01 when refilled on return home. That is about the same as my old Ford Focus 1.6 ghia over a similar journey. |

64033 - Do you let your LR run to near enough empty or re-fill at quarter of a tank? Only reason I ask is my Metropolis now has 800 miles on the clock and I have been re-filling it at just under half a tank and once filled it says there is 386 miles to empty. Trip on reset states fuel consumption is 29.2mpg and on auto it has gone up to 36.7mpg on a run to Basingstoke.

It will give the Range dependant on what your current mpg is, doing short runs, poor mpg low Range, do a run and get the average up into the 30's on your next fill up your Range will be much improved. |

Hi Ben LR2 I normally refuel with around 1/2 to a 1/4 of a tank left. When working out mileage I normally work it out using trip mileage and fuel in litres from either pump or receipt and always stop on first pump shut off, don't have to much faith in trip computer. |

Having my 11 GS for just over a week, I've been trying to resist the urge to drive any steadier than I did in my old Insignia. I'm now hovering around the 37mpg mark!! That's a combo of dual carriage and country roads!! #gulp!! Although I was expecting it to be honest, just got to get mind set that I'm driving a FL2 and not an insignia anymore lol . . if I want to see good mpg figures, I can always borrows wifey's C1 . . but then again 😜 lol . .

Being used to 60+mpg with my Mercedes C200 I seldom look at fuel computer on the Freelander SD Auto. If you want a car suitable for the job you pay the price.
