You're doing exactly what I just did, Andrew - same switch, same cars, same time. Several thousand kilometers away, of course. Smile

2 days with the car, loving it so far, but I perceive it as slower to start moving from stopped when compared to our old LR1

United States 2008 LR2 i6 SE Auto Orkney Grey
New Owner

Just picked up a 2008 Freelander LR2 SE. 65,000 miles, nazca sand, NAV. Everything works! aux input buzz's, think i need to rewire the ground. Took her out in the gourge, in heavy rain, and mt hood snows. No problems. SO far i have installed a towbar. and hopefully tackling aftermarket trailer wiring tomorrow. should run me about 50 bucks. Also upgrading LED's throughout.
Potential upgrades-
General Grabbers
roof basket
possibly 20mm lift
She's a beauty, my first car without one or two broken window motors...
cheers
Daniel

Ireland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Nazca Sand
New 1st time Landy Owner and Member

Hello Freelander 2 community.
Finally, after waiting since the launch of the new FL2 back in 2007, I can finally afford to buy into this club!
I'm making the transition from my tried and trusty Rav4 to the Freelander 2 and after the first few days of driving I realise I'm now in a different league Very Happy

The wife and I now own a 2007 S in...(guess the colour), manual. Comes with many toys (though none new to us as we had a 307 skywagon executive, fully loaded, from 03 to 10 as the main family car. However, this beast now has that honour.

Suppose what we don't have Sad is the lovely leather interior, the premium music player and the sat nav screen, though the last item wouldn't replace Google Maps on my iphone any day!

I am praying that our new golden baby does not let us down...took a gamble and bought privately with service history only on various stickers around the engine bay. To be fair the previous owner did admit to having his mechanic friend do most servicing and had oil changes every 10,000 kms, and I have always carried out my own servicing over the years (kinda home based mechanic & restorer), and a lot of people dropped main dealers after the economic crash in Ireland over the last 7 years, but ill take that info with caution and will carry out a full service the 135k kms demands.

She feels lovely and tight to drive, no rattles, no shakes, everything works, even the aux in sound plug, even though it does pop through the centre console when pushed.....

No leaks underneath, except the water waste from the air con, engine looks dry, little bit of oil around intercooler pipes as one would expect at this age.

I have many questions, but for now its hello from a Welshman living in the South East of Ireland
Thumbs Up

A great coincidence. I was apprehensive about saying goodbye to the F1 as it has been a great vehicle that has done everything asked of it and without the reliability issues that we hear so much about.

I collected the F2 on Saturday and it's great!!! it feels like a huge step up from the F1. Agree it feels slower but think that is the effortless way it puuuullllssss! Build feels great too.

Hello

Just a quick hello... I've just bought an '07 Freelander 2 GS in Zermatt Silver after 14 years of owning a Ford Puma. The Blue oval is no more... long live the Green oval!!!

The only thing that I've now noticed is that the seat belt height adjuster on the passenger's side is stuck... is this a 'fixable' problem?

Thanks,

Andrew

Yes easy.
Remove first lower black "B" pillar trim panel then the upper trim panel - they both simply pull off.
Then investigate the "stuck" which is probably just a misaligned lug - then lubricate all you can see with a silicon based polish, and, also run your polish cloth over both sides of the full extended run of the seat belt.
Job Done. Very Happy

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Tambora Flame

Just joined up, eventually.
Some of you may know me, or know of me, from LZ as the guy who makes stuff for FL1's (currently got no plans for anything for the FL2).
But anyway, bought a Tambora Flame FL2 3 weeks ago, lovely little car Very Happy Been offered a full brand new G4 kit (rack, guards etc) from someone over in the US, but personally think there's better kit on the market for the money.
Just need to remember to sell my FL1 now...
