Just signed up as I have a 2015 Freelander metropolis SD4 on order, due end of September.
Already have our trusty Freelander 1 Td4 2005 model, fantastic but now nearly 10 years old, runs a treat but is starting to fall apart!
Anyway, the new Metropolis will be my new company car (I travel approx. 45,000 miles a year) I travel throughout the UK and on mainland Europe quite a lot too.
My current car is a Mercedes C250 AMG Sport+, which is a great car but just show it a frost particle or even a snowflake and forget it-hence the new Landy.
Simply can't wait until the new one arrives but ironically they are made 15 miles away from where I live but has been ordered thru a dealer in Basingstoke (Don't ask).
Just glad my boss has ok'd the order.
It will be kind of novel to have two flavours of the Freelander family on the drive and as I say am really looking forward to my new one, if it is just half as good as our existing beasty then I will be chuffed.

Hi Derek. Welcome to the forum. As you are towing a 'van with an auto, make sure your car has (or gets) dedicated towing electrics fitted and software updated. Your auto box can then know when the 'van is fitted. Plus parking sensors and rear fog light.

On Wednesday i should collect my 63 plate FL2, trading in from a Jag XF which is breaking my heart, so wanted a 4X4 again with some class.

Thought I'd pop in and say hello. Had the original Freelander a few years ago (which I loved). Strayed to the dark side and had a couple of Merc estates for a while (sitting on the drive when a snow flake peaked it's head from the clouds was a bitch) but have seen the light again and plumped for an FL2 so thought I'd pop by.

Picked it up on Friday after choosing it over the Jag XF (steve be interested to hear your comparative views - had the Jag on loan for a day and loved that but just not as practical for me) and love being back with the green oval. Don't take life so seriously, no one gets out alive anyway......

An update, hope to collect a 2010 HSE e in the next few days, in Stornaway Grey. I'm too trading in my XF, mixed emotions with mine though - a lovely car but it didn't quite have the same feel about it as the X-Type, and then S-Type I had had before.

Really looking forward to the Freely ownership experience!

After years of being a BMW fan I have recently purchased a 30 k mileage 2008 HST that has been totally revamped I love it. Looking for forums with regards to a very loud noise coming from the rear, (not a wheel bearing I believe it to be my pinion bearings on my diff) I found this site. I am a bit of a technophobe so I hope this hello is on the right page.
