Headlamp bulbs

Hi
I have a late 2013 GS model and want to get the right spare bulbs for a holiday abroad.
Can anyone tell my what type of headlamp bulbs I have. They are small round lenses and I have the auto on function as well as the DRLs.

Thanks

If you have the levelling adjuster thumbwheel near the door then you have halogen and they are HB3, one bulb does both jobs of dip and full beam each side, so two in total.

Le Bouch is correct; take a look at the lower edge of the headlamp glass, (its plastic really!)

Have a look on Autobulbs Direct website and enter your Reg. According to them it has an HB3 on dipped and an H7 on main. My MY2011 has H11 Dip and H7 main. MY14 TD4 manual XS Orkney grey.

'Autobulbs Direct' are wrong for a MY13 halogen, I have uprated my bulbs to the 'Nightbreakers' and what came out was HB3 and what went in was HB3, one lamp does both main and dip using a shutter system.

For dip beam there is a little metal plate with shape of the beam (for RHD the left side being higher than the right) cut in it. This is mounted vertically in front of the bulb and literally blocks the light to create the dip beam. The plate though can swivel at the bottom so it can move out of the way. A little spring holds it up and a motor pushes it down when you switch to main beam or flash the lights. Simple as that.

This means dip and main use one bulb/filament (unlike H4 bulbs which have two filaments, one dip, one main). On the MY2013 face lift the position of the main beam bulb has been taken up with the LED DRL.
