My mis spent youth was spent owning and driving around in a succession of Lotus cars. my first was an A frame Mk1Cortina with aluminium bonnet, boot and doors with 'airflow' dash. It cost me £300 The water pumps were a nightmare,as the head had to come off to replace them, till a conversion came on the market. A pair of 45 dellortos with meshed trumpets gave them a great induction roar. A pair of Cibie headlights on the front and air horns and it was all set for the traffic light races against the Cooper 1275S boys. |

Series 1 looked fantastic after the restoration. Real shame Philip Glenister is ruining this programme. He is dis-interested to the point of rudeness to the enthusiasts he is sent to meet. |

I can't say he really bothered me, but the programme was supposed to be about the car, not him! Far too much Glenister, far too little on the restoration. Here's the original wreck - here's a bit of chassis welding - here's a bit of upholstery - here's the finished result. It could have been so much better - even 5's Classic Car Rescue gives us more than that! |
