I was on a driving on the "continent training day" to learn how go round the roundabouts the wrong way.

This was day 2 that did "how to go round a roundabout the wrong way whilst been stuck behind a tractor" Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hello there ,the van weighs in at 1435kg and 1678 fully loaded with the kerb weight of the FL2 being 1770kg its a stable tow like you don't really notice it on the back ,dont think we have or are likely to take it up to the 1678kg , the only thing i do find that it seems to be a little nose down not sure if thats down to us but we do tend to but most of our stuff under the fixed bed which is behind the wheels and the awning is usually in the boot when we take it which is only when the kids 15 & 17 decide to come with us as they are both working weekends now so they don't come that often Mr. Green

My last fewposts regarding caravans have been quite friendly in my opinion Thumbs Up , BUT then I drove to Harrogate to see Mrs G and young Finn and guess what! stuck behind a caravan at 30 mph for half of the 17 mile trip, I was about 10 cars back from the ugly great thing, I didn't want to travel at crazy speeds just get to hospital to see my wife and son!!! No fair Evil or Very Mad

When I got there and all aggravation left me when I saw Finn's little face Very Happy At work

Ahh, bless him! Congrats, by the way CG. Very Happy

Sorry if anyone thought I was 'lecturing' about the '85% rule' - I really didn't mean it to sound like that.

As for towing at 30mph holding up traffic - there's no excuse for that. It is bad manners and poor driving. 'Nuff said! I'm going out to clean my F2! I'm still madly in love with it! Thumbs Up

The Freelanders do not seem to have a problem with the twin axles. My kids are 5 & 6 so we tend to be fully loaded and now have roof bars loaded with 4 bikes just to add to the wind resistance. Still no problems towing and very stable. We live in Paisley just outside Glasgow and are going to Devon next month so that will be a really good test but I recon I will get about 20 to 22 MPG.

CG
You will not be stuck at 30 behing me you would struggle to keep up. Razz

CG, What you failed to see there was a tractor and trailer in front of the caravan.
You must look on the bright side. At least you didn't get a speeding ticket while behind the caravan. You should thank us caravanners for that. Especially when you meet us in the pub.
Hope all is well with wife your and son. Thumbs Up

Ah but if a tractor had been responsible it would have pulled over at one of the many lay-bys in the road. Anyway seeing as the roads around here are all built on farmers fields, tractors have the right of way Laughing Laughing

I suppose we should give him a break before telling him what he has REALLY let himself in for !!!

OK, I'm biased, with a wife and two teenage daughters (16 & 19) I'm really suffering.

Censored this family lark is expensive ...

Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

I got the FL2 as a company car, it's about the only break I get .....
