My local tyre place has only ever carried out repairs on the flat of the tyre safely in from the sidewall.....from what they say then you cannot repair a sidewall puncture ......this might not be fact but they are generally really helpful Black FL2

I had a similar experience - car was 2 -3 months old and a large nail had entered the tread and exited through the side wall. Tyre place said no option of a repair so virtually brand new tyre had to be replaced. Not a happy chappy. gone MY2010 GS TD4 Manual Stornoway

I've got a full size spare, it doesn't look to have been used much (I bought the car when it was two years old). Its got a side wall repair, I don't know if it had a puncture or not buts its got a vulcanised patch on the side of it. I've had the car almost two years and the spare has kept its pressure, I don't know what it would be like if it was driven on? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

My local tyre place have also told me in the past they can't repair sidewall punctures - last time I had that problem they said because of the flex in the sidewall when cornering, braking etc they wouldn't do it - ( don't know if is illegal or not ) but they were talking from a safety point |

Here's my tyre that's been repaired, it was done before I bought the car so I don't know if it's legal or not.

I don't think I would run on that - even as a spare! |
