Just installed the Bluefin and have to say I was staggered at the difference. So glad I did it. I'm not really worried about it 'paying for itself' I do well over 20,000 miles a year so yes it will, but its £300 well spent to improve the driving experience! Just fab!

Yeh I travel to Cardiff one day a week every week and measure consumption every time I fill up (coz I'm a bit sad like that LOL) Today I measured it at an average of 42.3mpg sp will do the same trip next week and compare. Its mostly night driving so conditions and speeds remain almost identical. Will be interesting to see the results.

Wait until you check out the kickdown it now provides. Overtakes used to be nothing but a dream until I bought the bluefin. Okay I could always use more torque as Sussex A road speeds are usually annoyingly 40mph due to crap drivers, but the remap does help. Be warned that some drivers won't expect your car to move quite as quickly as it now will.

Don't get me wrong, the re-maps are very good and offer improved performance, but re-mapped Freelander 2's are still no match for many cars on the road.

And I wouldn't disagree with some of what you say but it is a lot like saying a FL2 without a remap, would thrash an Astra of any description up a muddy hill. Of course an Astra would do what you say under circumstances but if I didn't enjoy sitting high up in a car that can make a good job of mostly everything, I wouldn't have bought a FL2.

Yes a 330D BMW is a whole 0.6 of a second faster in the mid range ( assuming you put your foot flat to the floor )

I agree with what you are saying, but my comments were on the subject of views about the FL2 with a re-map being a machine to surprise the buy racers. It will never be a performance car. Don't forget, I have been running Bluefin on Freelander 2's since 2008 so understand what you get from them. This is not a criticism of course, just putting into perspective what the re-map will do for Freelander 2 owners. Personally, I think the Freelander TD4 re-map is worth every penny, and it won't be long until I map my SD4. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

Yes I totally agree with that. I was going to mention it if only to reduce any disappointment due to expectation of it becoming a time machine but I took the comment as lightheartedly as I think it was meant.

Uploaded my Bluefin last night, and I was certainly impressed with the difference.
