I like the way these journo types always think they know things they clearly don't like "it has more interior space" how the heck do they know that from a picture!

Bunch of twerps, let's cease the speculation and just see what comes, that way we can make an informed judgment.  MY2014 SD4 XS

I've been eagerly awaiting details of the new Freelander / Discovery. My company car is due for replacement next December and I really want a car with a bigger boot, and would prefer not to wait until too far in to the following year. So much so that I test drove a Volvo XC60 last week as it was one of the few cars meeting my criteria. However, verdict was that it doesn't come close to the Freelander, particularly in terms of driving position and visibility. Outcome therefore is I'm just going to have to wait it out...

New Freelander 3

Well I've jumped ship today and purchased a new RR Evoque Dynamique and what a beauty she is.
Goodbye Freelander 2 XS MY11. Don't get me wrong I've thoroughly enjoyed the Freelander but after 3 yrs I needed to chop in. After a lot of dealer visits, inside knowledge is the Freelander 3 is out in early 2015 as part of a new Discovery range of 'leisure' vehicles.
No more freelander badge; LR are moving to 3 brands: Defender, Discovery & Range Rover.
Having had new quotes on a MY14 Freelander 2 the residuals are starting to drop and I didn't want to end up with a 12 month obsolete car!
Still keeping in the family though and may look at a new baby disc in 2 +years time.
Suppose I'll have to join the RR forum now as I'll be an outcast here shortly! Thumbs Up

If that is what is coming, which I hope it isn't, there is someone one out there throwing a lot of hard at an RRS and that looks like a mini RRS but for 30k less.

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Sumatra Black

Photographs from winter testing - http://www.gmotors.co.uk/news/2015-land-ro...r-testing/ - also published by Autocar via the link on the first page.

Not convinced by the shape yet, but it looks as if there may be a bit of padding under the disguise, as it's strangely egg-like in profile - http://www.gmotors.co.uk/news/2015-land-ro...lander-11/

Similarly unconvinced by the whole "Discovery" thing, but despite have had 4 FL2s since a couple of months after launch, I suspect I no longer fit the demographic they want.

To me, the "Land Rover" across the bonnet is the important thing - having LED lights and "Discovery" chavved across the front doesn't make me want to spend an extra £3k for the same vehicle, but no doubt I'll still take my place in the queue for one.
