New member in France.

Ordered a Freelander 2 SD4 HSE in Orkney Grey, in early December - delivery promised by May 2014, or perhaps earlier. How reliable are their delivery schedules?

i ordered mine early Dec, due end of Feb - though i'm taking it March 1st for new UK reg etc - everything's on track so far! MY14 SD4 HSE LUX, Colour - Santorini Black, Spare Alloy, Privacy Glass, Front & rear SS tread plates, Chrome arse, Official LR coat hanger!! <-- Going soon... Any offers?

Gosh that's not bad.

The LUX model isn't available here, and it was a bit tricky discovering what was (or wasn't) fitted as standard on the French HSE model.

I've added rubber mats, mud flaps, a tow bar, ivory leather seats and electric sun roof as extras - I thought that the sunroof was standard on the higher spec model, but apparently not, here.

welcome Old Goat, good to hear you have ordered a FL2, shame they mess with the speck for different countries and you have to add basic stuff to build a top spec car

are you from france or moved over there for cheap wine like member JST did?

Lived in France for seven years, now - it wasn't the wine that attracted me - more the peace and quiet and better standard of living. It's lovely in these parts - rural, rolling hills, wildlife, and tranquillity.

Owned a Suzuki Grand Vitara since I've been here, which has been brilliant and fault-free - a decent 4 X 4 is essential, I think. It was a three door which we used for general runabouts here - the Rover 75 diesel Tourer (lovely) we came out here with, (and used more for long distance drives) my wife took back to the UK when she left me. Divorce in progress. So, now I'm after the best of both worlds in comfort and ruggedness (in terms of vehicle, and not wife-wise, of course!).

sounds idyllic, guess you don't bother coming back to the UK nowadays with life been better over there

Just joined as Landyzone keeps pointing me here! I currently have a 2007 TD4 GS manual which I have happily owned since 2008. Use as a 'van tug and looked at suitable replacements so after trying a few other 4x4 have decided on a 2013 SD4 XS.

I have owned a 300TDi Discovery, a TD5 Discovery and now a Freelander 2 GS TD4e, on a 60 plate, in black.

No additions or mods (yet) other the Audio Connection (USB) Module fitted by the supplying dealer, Lloyd of Carlisle.

Drove it home yesterday and realised this morning that there aren't any chuffing floor mats in it.. Have emailed the dealer and will wait and see. SWMBO not impressed - "You're telling me we've paid them £XX,000 for a 3 year old car and there aren't even any mats in it?! I could get a £500 banger from the railway arches and that'd have mats in it!!" was the kindest of her comments

Just a note to say Hello - I've just bought a '14 GS, this will be my third ('00 1.8 , '04 TD4) so I'm looking forward to making a few subtle changes,
and to finding out what this new toy can do (once its not quite as shiny)

Just need a towbar, roof rails and dog guard, andI'll be happy!
