It's all part of LRs new branding strategy, each one with its own range 14MY is the start.

I find that my reaction to this is strange. I quite like "Range Rover" on the bonnet of said icon, but the Defender is the archetypal Land Rover to me and should proudly display that on its bonnet. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

I agree - the Defender lettering is just wrong. It doesn't even look right - too big and in-your-face. For me LR have got it badly wrong with the re-branding exercise. I can see plenty of Defender buyers removing that lettering and replacing it with the 'proper' Land Rover lettering. I would!

I always took the lettering off the bonet! it's a dirt collector. Love the recaro seats tho. They fail to mention that you can't tow a decent weight with tyre defender anymore tho |

Marketing department trying to justify its worth. May as well go the whole hog and put 90 TDCI XS STATION WAGON on just so people know what it is.

"Land Rover" is a very strong brand world wide. I think they're making a big mistake taking it off the front of their iconic vehicle. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

A car with a clutch is like a car with a starting handle. Used to have one, know how to use it but don't want another. That's progress

I think you have all forgotten that when the Defender first came out it was badged on the front as such. It was not until the 90/110 designation that they put "Land Rover" on the front. It is just a throwback to it's roots. John
