United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Baltic Blue

Hi there, not a FL2 owner at present but have ordered 2 !previously" enjoyed examples from a LR dealer, one for myself and one for my daughter. I was going to treat myself to a SD4 but newer than what I ordered but my daughter needed a 4x4 so it had to be done . We are a long term LR owning family, my wife has had a Disco 1 and a RR tdi Classic and I have had 2 Discos and soon to have one more. The reasons we are going for the FL2 are mainly 40mpg is very attractive , also I been told by LR Experience guys that it one LR that left the factory with no know faults. Should be picking them up next week. Wish me luck.

Cheers.

England 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Santorini Black

Hi all

Bought an 07 XS a couple of weeks ago to replace an Audi A4 TDI quattro avant.

Bought the FL2 to make sure we can get to visit the in-laws each weekend, as they live in a slightly remote cottage up a hill in North Wales. The Audi got up the lane ok but was starting to ground out in a few too many places. The XS gets up with ease, and plenty of ground clearance too!

Browsing the forum before deciding on the car was really helpful, it gave me so much useful info.

The next decision is what winter tyres to fit! Very Happy

thanks

Dave

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver

Hi,

I'm collecting my '07 XS model on Saturday, replacing a disasterous Subaru Outback Diesel (crankshaft lasted 29 days), which replaced an Audi A4 Quattro. Previous LR products include a 90, 2 x 110 CSWs, an ex-Military 109", a coil sprung 3.5l v8 Series 1 comp safari racer and most recently a 200TDI Discovery.

For the use I want to put it to, it seems to be one of the few decent SUVs on the market that can actually operate off-road without getting stuck or destroying itself. I looked at pretty much every option (including L200s / Hilux, etc) and was warned off the D3 / RR Sport by a friend that is also a LR specialist. FL2s seem to be the most reliable and affordable of all according to his experience.

Looking forward to finding out for myself ......

Scotland 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Ipanema Sand

Hi Everyone - just waiting till next week to get my 2011 SD4 XS
Took it for a test drive on Friday and didn't want to give it back !
Is getting a plate transfer done - guess previous owner is keeping his reg so hoping DVLC get their
act together and doesn't take too long !!!
Am driving from Aberdeenshire down to Ayrshire next weekend so really hoping have it by then -
nice 400 mile round trip to enjoy it and figure out the radio !
Will be a whole different driving experience to the L200 pickup - don't need a pickup anymore
so the luxury of the LR will be appreciated
Also looking forward to using the Forum Smile

Hi all,

Picking up my 2013 GS SD4 tomorrow and am rather excited! Santorini Black with Black leather and my first new car Smile Replacing an ageing, rustic, smelly pathfinder and I can't wait!

I went with the intention of buying a TD4 manual but the only demonstrator available was an SD4 and once I'd tried it there was no going back Very Happy

Hi all,

Recently bought a '56 plate TD4 SE in stornoway grey. My first 'proper car' after owning an X-reg Fiesta for many years!

Absolutely loving it so far!

Hi Rich.

Bit of a difference between a fiesta and a land rover eh? I recently upgraded from a Ford Focus to a 2007 FL2 myself. thought it was going to cripple me financially at one point but it really isn't as bad as I expected. Have you found the same fuel wise ?

Gary

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

Hello to ALL.

Just bought 3yr old TD4 XS Auto.

I have to admit, I do not own a caravan or have anything in particular to tow.
Whilst living fairly close to the countryside, I have no off road plans.
Read a lot about this machine and looked at forums, and still bought it anyway!

The speed at which the fuel goes down is scary; truely frightening!

But cannot get out of the vehicle.
It's great! truely magnificient. I LOVE IT.
I still not sure if I can afford it... but i Love it. I've said that already.

Good day.
