Not this make but by the look of the photo's they are identical to the genuine parts as far as the fixings go. I had mine off in the summer to tidy them up and its quite a job. The sill trim neeeds to be removed and slots cut for the brackets, which bolt to pre existing captive bolts. However the rear brackets will need to have Rivet nuts fitted to the inner sills.
On refitting mine i had to replace all the plastic molding clips to make a good job.
This is only a very brief description but hopefully will give you some idea whats involved.

I have OEM steps like these fitted but from a different supplier - no cutting involved on the TD4 but not sure about your model.

There are things like Rivnuts to install as well that require a special tool so not sure that it's totally a question of just fitting them on with a few bolts!

I like the look but some don't and think it makes the car look too squat - I prefer "chunky". If you fit them it's a good idea to use them as well otherwise you drag the back of your trousers on the step edge - not good when wet / dirty. Not sensible if you do any real off-roading either.

They do help prevent prats at supermarkets dinging your doors, not all - depends on the make of the other car, but they do stop at least some of them!

I certainly think so! My last car was a BMW and it collected a fair few dings from the supermarket brigade despite my seeking out parking spaces in the furthest reaches of the car parks. It seemed like it was a magnet for idiots who couldn't judge how much space they needed to open their doors!!! The steps protect against some of them at least.

If you want to protect your doors from dings, get some body side mouldings.

yup they would certainly help as well and are on the top of my list of desirable things for the car.

I fitted a pair identical to these but from a different supplier and £20 more
To fit the brackets to the underneath you need a rivnut tool (powerfuluk £14) which fixes them into pre drilled holes in the chassis.
There's no drilling needed as the plastic side trims pull off (held on with plastic clips), when off you need to make 3 slots in each side with a stanley knife ( markings on backs where to cut).

If i can fit them anyone can

You got a good deal on those steps!

I got a body shop to insert the special bolts underneath as I did not have the tools - at the time they where in the process of painting and fitting door protectors so only charged me £20 for fitting the bolts.

Many will suggest they look awful or other!

Truth of the matter they look pretty good and protect to a certain degree door dings etc.

I would never be without door protectors as in this world we have a whole raft of morons who do not give a monkeys towards other people's property.

I would willingly pay £20 to use a decent car park with plenty of room that would guarantee no bumps with a pledge to return £15 upon leaving the car park.

And it is not always the idiots. I have seen well do to people do damage - to my car, and the attude is incredible.

2011 rear light to be delivered early this week and on the list for just after xmas - updated tailgate handle/ colour coded mirror caps/ rear spoiler/ new wheels - already fitted clear brake light

The steps in question are made by the same company who made them for LR. They just had their hands tied for the first 5 years and could only supply LR.

Now they can sell to who ever they like!
