Sat Nav will be HDD, updates at the dealer through the USB port, not cheap, would be cheaper to buy a new Tom Tom very year. DVD's finished when the MY13 model came out. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

A replacement set of DVD's to update the pre-2013 models was in the region of £160 if bought from the official supplier.

Above statement very true plus if you go off roading / visit FC tracks all you will have on the screen is green back ground and the position symbol as, unlike the Disco/RR anywhere off the public highway is disabled on the FL2. Unlike a Tom Tom which unless you are at the North Pole will show you exactly where you. Also Tom Toms on sale today now have lifetime free updating so no visits to the stealer (I think 4 times per year) and can also be fitted with speed camera and live traffic info. 2013 Freelander 2 SatNav is identical to the SatNav is all the other LR/RR vehicles and has an On Road and an Off Road function enabled. The change between modes bring Sat Nav up onto the screen and then press the Nav Hard Key and both options will be available, select the one you and do the same again to reselect the other option. |

Well that is new. 2009MY cars do not have this function as when it was queried on this forum the answer was that you may take your vehicle somewhere which is beyond its capabilities.

Yes you're right. Freelander 2 didn't get the offroad satnav function until 2103 MY.

Do not need to do that. Got a job driving Rally Officials on forest stage rallies and it goes good. See post 4 on page 14 of topic below and keeping on the right track using Tom Tom sat nav. http://www.freelorum/topic14954.html Bill Life Honorary Member of Wallasey Motor Club. I'm considering doing a first update when it's 2nd service is due next year. JLR are doing it for £169 which seems reasonable, I think last year when in checked it was around £260 mark?!
