Hi Tony, thanks for your reply. How long ago did this happen to you? And is the coolant oil free since you cleaned it? I think that mine has exactly the same as yours had, walls of expansion tank are covered too (not completely though). Last weekend I was driving quite a lot, usually in blocks of 2-3 hrs on a highway without stopping, and the temperature indicator didn't exceed the half-position mark, which is good I think.
I can try to look into those steps to condemn the oil cooler, as you suggested, however, I haven't done anything like that before, so not sure if I will be able to do that.
Also, if I understand that correctly, when there is oil in the coolant circuit, the only thing it could cause is to overheat the engine, so if I will keep an eye on the temperature, everything should be fine, is that correct? (of course, until I will manage to clean it). Or are there any other possibilities that could go wrong?
