why cant it just automatically pair with either the only phone in range or the last phone used if two or or more in range. The basic no screen nokia kit in my pickup does that.

Dowload the phone compatibility list from the LR web site - amazing number of phones either have no or limited compatibility. Well worth checking before changing phone. My new Blackberry will not even see it - had to buy a cheap Motorola which synchs perfectly. Banging Head Grumpy

You can download a pairing application from Blackberry which will assist in getting the car to see your phone.

Anyone had any success with the new O2 XDA Orbit 2? I successfully paired the phone after a bit of fiddling and it worked perfectly. However when I disconnected and reconnected, no sound transferred to the car system. All sound stayed with the phone! All other functions worked perfectly. The only way to get audio through the car system back was to delete the phone and pair it again.

Any advice welcome Sad

I've contacted Land Rover customer service about the Bluetooth system as I'm not happy with its performance, or lack of Sad . From my understanding of Bluetooth, systems should be back compatible and cross platform compliant. The fact Land Rover have changed their BT module so soon after first release proves to me the first module was not designed correctly and is not fit for purpose. I have had problems with previous phones on the system even when Land Rover claim full compliance.

How is it that I can connect my new phone to a very old BT headset without problems yet the Land Rover module has problems? The fact that my phone DOES pair with the car and has initially full functionality suggests to me the module is faulty. Whether that is by poor design or an inherent fault doesn't really matter.

I have written to Land Rover and expressed my disappointment with this area of the vehicle. I have also stated I believe that the module is not of satisfcatory quality and not fit for purpose under the Sale of Goods Act. Whether it gets me anywhere remains to be seen. Confused

Success!

Hi All,

Just thought I'd update you on my progress with getting the issue with my BT integration resolved. Had a lot of futile emails with Land Rover Customer Service who were completely useless. Had the vehicle in for some warranty issues with my local dealer and had a chat with their tech guru! He said the only difference between the two modules is the software. I was a little dubious but asked if there was any software downloads available. He said they were working on one and it should be available soon.

Anyway I've just had my first service and they downloaded a completely new software update for the BT phone integration. I was sceptical when they told me but had a go at pairing my phone again. Unbelievably it worked perfectly! Have reconnected several times and have full functionality. They have also added a very handy signal strength indicator on the display panel just below the little phone symbol. I'm absolutely delighted as I can now use the system as it was intended.

Land Rover have also updated their website with a new compatible phones checking service. My phone is still not listed but a very similar model is listed and says it's NOT compatible with my VIN series but is with the later ones. However this new software update seems to have fixed a lot of issues.

For info my phone is the new O2 XDA Orbit 2 (aka HTC Polaris/Touch Cruise).

Hope the above is helpful to those struggling to get their phone to work. Very Happy

My wife got the Nokia 6300. Works perfect with the FL2. Dowloads her phonebook, and works perfectly, -in and out. No problems with draining the battery. But you can also recharge the batteries with the FL2.
We have a permanent wire where we can stick in both our phones and recharge the batteries.

I've got the Nokia N73. I can call in and out, but the FL2 wont download my phonebook. I have to dial every number when using my phone. Look forward to when the FL2 will fully accept my Nokia N73.

Viking are your contacts saved to the SIM or to the Phone? I had this problem with most of the numbers using a Motorola V3i and the 2008MY BT of the RRS. After a lot of frustration I found a setting in the phone that copied all the numbers from the sim card to the phone or the other way round and since copying it whichever way I have full integration between car and phone. However when I look in my contacts list on the phone now, every entry is there twice.................................. once as just a number and the 2nd entry shows a mobile phone icon beside it. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Think you have to copy all contacts to the phone from the sim for full integration

Windows Mobile 6 Phones

Hi all - after using a Blackberry Pearl for the last few months and having only limited success with the BT integration, Ive just switched to an HTC Touch Dual from Orange and it sync'd up perfectly first time, and gives me full integration including all contact details and last/missed call details. I also had an HTC TYTN 2 for a few days which also worked perfectly (got rid of it on account of it being like carrying a small brick in my pocket), so I would stick my neck out and say that ANY windows mobile 6 phone will be fine. Hope this helps someone! vroom vroom.........

HTC Dual

Hello,

I am about to change my mobile and I was wondering whether has anyone tested the compatibility with the HTC Dual or the Nokia E51.

Thanks

Hi. The HTC Touch Dual (is this the one you mean?) works 100%. The phone I have is through Orange and has WM6 installed on it. Its really easy to pair, just ignore the first message that says pairing failed - it lies! vroom vroom.........
