United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Mauritius Blue
What is manufacture year of my FL2

I have a 13 plate FL2 TD4 GS which was first registered 07/03/13 and want to know the year of manufacture. Is there any way I can tell by the VIN?

The reason is because I have a towing electrics loom for single 13 pin type up to MY12 Sad and wish to use on on my car Smile .

Appreciate any help.

Register for free on Topix then enter your VIN and the details will tell you the month/year when built.

Thanks, registered with Topix and the manufacture date is 13/01/2013.

My question is, with the Towing Electrics for single 13 pin type stated as suitable for vehicles up to MY12 will it be compatible with my MY13 LR2?

At 13MY the freelander electrics were updated to similar to Evoque, if your car is 13MY you need the correct electrics which are just plug and play, no coding needed.Upto 12MY there is a separate towing module fitted in lh rear wing and needs dealer to activate it.

That is very interesting! I will need to do some investigating as although my FL2 MY is early January 2013 I wounder if the modification to accept plug and play was carried out on it. If yes then I will have a spare LR wireing loom for sale.

If your car is 13MY ( easy to tell as 13MY has led daytime running lamps) then it will be the new plug and play, the electrics changed for 13My so all cars are the same.

Well after all that the correct towing electrics for my MY13 Freelander 2 is vplft0106 for the 13 pin and vplft0105 for the the 12 N S one.

The one I have is vplft0077 which is now redundant! and will have to buy the vplft0106.

Thank you guys for pointing me in the right direction to get answers needed.
