AD 10987654321, hows ya doing ![]() I don't read it each time, it just brings a smile to my face when I pop in now and then and have a sneeky at it. I've already said my piece back in the early days, not adding anymore comments to it in case I get me knuckles wrapped ![]() |

The main point of adding approx 200:1 mixture of 2-S oil is to lubricate the high pressure fuel pump rams & cylinders (common rail injection) because of their very tight tolerances. If ordinary (low sulphur) diesel fuel is not treated, then excessive wear will take place in the pump eventually, leading to a lower pressure output which will result in the required injection pressure not being reached. In turn this will lead to poor combustion, less performance, black smoke from the exhaust when you put your foot down and increased fouling of the engine internals. "Super" diesel is better for this necessary extra lubrication, but in my humble opinion, 300ml of 2-s oil is far superior when added to ordinary fuel. |

Several people in this thread have referred to "homeopathic" quantities of two-stroke oil added to the fuel.

That is fine, you don't want fully synthetic (apart from anything else it's too costly), you do want low ash. I use the very cheapest I can find Recently Amazon has been a good source but I always check Tesco and other supermarkets / hardware outlets for special offers! |

I might get a bottle then for 3 quid. I only put 60 quid in at a time so that bottle of 2 stroke should last me 3 fill ups. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

In what engine do you intend to use it? This is OK if you don't have DPF (JASO-FB norm, at least that's stated on bottle). I have used similar oil (same norm JASO-FB) in my Mondeo mk3 in larger quantities. First two tanks 1 liter on full tank, third 0.5 liter, and after that 0.25 liter on full tank. BUT i don't have DPF. If you have DPF you are supposed to use JASO-FC+ of JASO-FD Glad if I could help. |
