i know the feeling choocymonster, just bought a new alloy wheel for a spare from fleabay! got to get myself some rubber mats, then will need to sort out tow bar for it and possibly some side steps or side protection bars?? cant wait for the new toy to turn up.

Well I like the look of the FL2 and a 4*4 will be useful so I thought |I better do some reseach which involved finding this forum!

So far have more or less decided its a td4 hse for me...altho I have a few questions I hope will not seem too basci for all the hardened owners on here!

firstly whats the difference between an sd4 and a td4 ? (see, told you!)
secondly, as i cant afford a new one, what sort of second hand market is there, in the 2/3 year old range, and what sort of mileage is the average for the age?

Tax....everyone hates it but I guess for a td4 its gonna be around 480 pa?
finally, what would you say are the "must have" packs.....

Bonjour, thought it was time to join the Forum as have to confess to, “plundering”, a number of articles since we purchased the FL2 about eighteen months ago.

It’s a Dec 2009 TD4_e Eastnor, a limited edition produced for the French market and includes a few extras over the basic model plus a few more now, courtesy of the above, “plundering”.
Regret that is a, “debt”, I doubt I’ll be able to repay as the Forum expertise far exceeds mine.

However if I don’t get, “red lined”, on my first post, if it is of interest the ‘Eastnor’ and other world wide LR Model Ltd editions are detailed on a French web site, http://aebergon.perso.neuf.fr/, produced by a Nicolas Bergon and it covers all makes not just LR.
You would need to ‘click’ on the emblem of a French make of car to open the site.
Just added are details of the Ltd edition, (35) 2013 Evoque “ Jaune Sicile”, in an interesting colour, which probably looks better in the country it’s named after!

This FL2 is the first LR I have owned but I had about 12 years experience driving Defender 90’s on and off road, (getting paid for it eased the pain of course), and one of the advantages of Health & Safety at work was being, “forced”, to attend a H&S 4x4 and winching course. Some times it works for you!!

Really enjoy the site and the ripostes that fly around and I am hoping that now I have joined and made a ‘post’ that the guilt of, “plundering”, will ease. Time and potential ripostes will tell.

Prior to 2011MY the Freelander came with a 2.2litre 160 bhp TD4 engine.
2011MY saw the introduction of the 2.2litre 150 bhp TD4 engine and the 190bhp SD4 engine. Essentially the same engine tuned differently, both engines produce 420Nm of torque. Fuel consumption for the TD4 manual is 45 on the combined, and for the TD4/SD4 auto it's 40 but in real driving you're going to get around 35 - 39 depending on driving style. 0-60 in the SD4 is around 8.7 seconds and in the TD4 around 10.5.

Average mileage is about 10000 - 12000 per annum.

Vehicle excise duty is around £175 for a TD4 manual and £220 for a TD4/SD4 auto.

TD4 HSE comes pretty well equipped.
