Cyclists with iPods blaring in their ears, running red lights, pelican crossings and up on the pavement when it suits, bunch of some of them have the IQ of the hole in a doughnut but no one can touch them as they are environmentally friendly |

According to the Oxford English Dictionary a near miss is "a narrowly avoided collision or other accident" |

No, can you post a link that says a 'near miss' is a collision. I can post a lot that says the opposite

I grew up in East Yorkshire were level crossings are common, seen many cars trying to dodge barriers. In Snaith were I came from there were no barriers on the crossing at all. That cyclist is so stupid! Barrier, lights etc but still thinks they can beat a train. Thing that these special people don't understand is that if they had been killed it's not just them that's affected, the driver, passengers and emergency services have to cope with the stress of it all. One of the idiots some time back. Drunk in his mobility scooter, went round the barrier and stopped right next to the line. He had been reported several times before and believe it or not, has done it again since!!

A couple of years back my mate pulled a guy on a mobility scooter going the wrong way down a one way street, 3 times over the limit, CPS said it wasn't in the public interest in a court appearance and he got off |

Think you're all being a bit harsh. She's wearing a cycle helmet so would have been fine.

There was an even closer one in Australia last week! When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |
