Moved it to general, it's not a technical issue, the FL2 is not a sports car and it's 0-60 is academic, yes it can be quick but takes some stopping and flinging it into a roundabout at speed is not for the faint hearted, why do it.

EVERY manufacturer has issues with Dual Mass Flywheels, but Land Rover have less of a problem than others due to the way the cars mapped from the factory.

I've got a 2009 MY Manual Freelander, re-mapped to approx. 500 Nm and 180 hp half a year ago. Clutch had been changed 1,5 years ago, at 35 Tkm without replacing DMF, warranty claim rejected. Additionally, a sprint-booster for accelerator pedal is installed. Subjectively, there is a big diffrence in acceleration in 60-140 km/h range. The car is definetely more responsive than in stock mode. Yet, in the first gears the gain in acceleration is not very noticable, the smaller cars still being quicker off at traffic lights. But overtaking has become much quicker / safer. In short, the re-map pays off. However, one should not expect to make a sports car from Freelnader.

I don't deny that it's not impossible, however I understand that it was a marketing decision at 11MY (and same reason for not getting i4 in the UK) - insufficient demand. |

I should be around the 185/190 mark. But I have never timed the 0-60 because I don't see the point in doing so. But the SD4 auto is a little quicker than mine for sure. But when you look at a standard TD4 manual vs TD4 auto, according to the book, the auto is quicker anyway. A re-mapped TD4 manual almost feels unimpressive, in the fact that under normal driving, it doesnt feel any different, but when your on the open road, it is a lot more flexible with much more mid range torque, which shoves you along with a marked improvement over standard. He means i4, which is the same 237bhp 2.0 turbo as the Evoque. I have driven a Freelandeer 2 i4 and they are very quick and re-maps take them to around 300bhp. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

On Topix my engine is down as a Volvo engine, is that right? It's a 2010 TD4.

Made by Ford at Dagenham for Peugeot, Citroen and also used by Mitsubishi, slight differences and mapping but the main engine is about the same. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

I've not had time to play with everything in my SD4 Lux but did have a little go with the Command Shift and was really quite taken with it. It seemed to have pretty much all the fun of a manual, without the 'fun' of a dual mass flywheel and clutch ! I can imagine it is pretty good for busy city driving, especially if it is hilly. Still, nice to go back into auto, switch on cruise control and put your feet up on the passenger seat |
