Howdy from Chichester

Hi all,

Long time lurker, but thought I should formally register and say "hi" as I am off to view my first FL a little later today.

(Not the first time I have seen one, you understand......the first one I am likely to own....oh, I know what I mean!!)

Looking forward (assuming I can do a deal) to participating and contributing where I can!!

All the best,

David

Well - had a cracking trip to the dealer, who was (refreshingly) very pleasant.

Now, clearly dealers are in it to make a profit (they aren't doing it for love), and so there was probably a little more wiggle room than I paid - however, we arrived at a price better than I had expected to pay.

I therefore (metaphorically) bit his arm off!!

Car is being serviced and re-valeted (wasn't impressed with their first effort!) prior to delivery next week!

Assuming I haven't ballsed up adding photos, then hopefully you should see my new arrival below!!

Very Happy

(Yes, I know it's just another Freelander (although I was particularly impressed with my ability to capture the cement factory in the background!), but it's my new baby. So, be kind........ Embarassed

Very nice! Cool

Might want to upgrade the side indicators to clear though. Only £20 from eBay. Whistle

Looks great, fairly exclusive club with that colour, it doesn't matter what you pay, of your happy with what you paid then the price was right, just enjoy it.

Cement dust and paint don't mix well so get a wiggle on Laughing

Welcome to freel2, you'll find us helpful and informative, don't be afraid to ask, there are no stupid questions.

Agreed - there's a bunch of stuff that I'd like to do!!

Need to find a new and exciting way to get stuff under the "Wife Radar" though, which has become highly attuned to this sort of thing since the thousands I flung at my Focus ST 225 back in the day.....

Modding is a slippery slope.... Wink

EDIT> Not sure about the side-steps at the moment - but we'll see. I am blindly assuming that they come off relatively easily should I feel the need.....? Off to do my first "Forum Search"!!

steps come off easy but you may be concerned about the holes in the plastic sill trim, they are on the underneath so dont have to be sorted, or new trims shouldnt cost a mint At work

2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Stornoway Grey

Well hello there!

Been lurking for a bit while i've been looking to buy my first Land Rover.
Thought i'd say "Hi" now i'm the "slightly" excited owner of a (used) Freelander 2 XS. Bit different to the SLK I part exchanged Very Happy.
Heres a photo of it (taken about 5 mins after we got home and just before the light went)

Me and the wife where a bit shocked when we went to pick it up at just how tall it is with that luggage box on top.. Unfortunately our salesman (who's been very helpful) did not know what clearance it needs, would anyone here know?? Failing that I'll get the tape measure out in the morning!

Cheers
Fluffy

Hey Choccy & Fluffy, and welcome. I can remember when I bought my first Freelander, what a great feeling!

Choccy, I have clear or smoked side repeaters if you are after some, you will just need a couple of orange bulbs.
