Now you know how to remove the front interior light how about an upgrade? I've fitted one from a Ford Focus hi spec car as these have switched map lights as well. You need a pair of small electrical snips to cut away a little of the LR internal stiffener. I've fitted an LED festoon however I haven't sorted out the map light bulbs as the electrical polarity is the wrong way round for standard bayonet LED's.
.
Kind regards from Fred

Ford Mondeo lights are a simple replacement - no cutting, 100% perfect fit just pop in.
I replaced both front and back lights, and now every passanger has map lights.

I paid € 2 each from a breakers yard

Thumbs Up

The genuine LR interior lamp with map lights (LR006480) is the best fit and surprisingly inexpensive - try Dan at Duckworths.

I upgraded the front interior lamp on my GS with one of these and then later swapped it into the rear when I changed to an XS. Yet to upgrade LEDs but plan to soon. 2012 SD4 XS Santorini Black

Has anybody solved finding LED bulbs with bayonet fitting to use in the map lights? The ones I bought for fitting are the wrong polarity.
I am wondering about unsoldering the bulb bit and reversing connections.
Here's hoping!
