The rear nearside door centralised locking system has packed up on my 09 FL2 GS. Fortunately it will still open and operate manually by using small top latch inside. Local auto electrician tells me its a common problem and a new motor costs an arm and a leg. plus full strip down of back door and refit. £300 ish He told me probably not worth the expense. ( common sense advice, unusual at a garage these day's. .)

My RR door lock gave up yesterday...there is small movement of inside latch when lock operates but not sufficient to lock/unlock the door.Works well when operated manualy.I am going to replace it next week together with some soundproofing work... |

I had the same problem on the Mrs 2011 FL2 and couldn't even be bothered to wait till the dealer to do it under warranty, It was £61 inc vat and about an hour to fit. Couple of screws and pull off the door card lifting as you pull off to unclip the top then its just a matter of a bit of patience to wiggle the doorlock/locking mechanism out and refit it all. The dealer couldn't fit it in for over 2 weeks and my 2 year old sits that side so didn't want anything untoward happening to the door. |

Repaired my door lock today - works fine so far and it took only two hours to do the job .Honestly if I would do this for my customer I would simply replace the lock but as its my car and I have nothing to loose I tried it as on a few cars before. If you want to try it by your self look at my gallery |
