Hi just returned to LR after a spell with the Koreans, we have a 2012 HSE SD4 Auto with the factory swan neck fixed bar. I have a couple of questions, up to the present can't yet get answerers to. is the ball of the bar painted or plated. if plated I only have to clean it to use the Al-Ko stabiliser. If painted I have to remove the paint. The other question is does anyone know how to increase the volume of the satnav directions as I can't hear it as it set below radio volume. With my Kenwood I could set the direction volume separately. The real disappointment was finding out I have to get on my hands and knees at the ferry port to swap discs, seems a bit stone age, DVD and changing over should just load the lot

Yes you do been to remove the paint. There is so much data on the Sat Nav Discs hence you have to change the discs at some of the Ports, if you just passing through a Country you won't need to do it as the UK Disc has the Major European Roads on it, I know the UK Discs has the Major roads of Belgium, Holland and France, also if using the France Disc you will still have the major roads on it when your over in the UK, I change mine at home as I only need he main UK roads to get me to Dover and then I'm ready when I get over the other side |

Hi and hello to all having just purchased my first Freelander2 today! it is a 2009 eS diesel with 70k miles, one owner and FMDSH so hopefully a good 'un! It is a while since I had any non VAG vehicles (my last being a Rover 75 CDTi Estate built as MGR were being closed down) so looking forward to a good ownership experience. I will be looking for some mods including as a matter of urgency front/rear parking sensors (or camera), ECU re-map and retro dash fit sat-nav if possible using a system with caravan friendly mapping options. I live in west Yorkshire so if any one on here can point me in the direction of recommended installers of the aforementioned I would be grateful. As an aside i used to live opposite Simmonites L/R specialists in Bradford for around 20+ years and my stepson has recently acquired a RR Vogue supercharged petrol guzzler which sort of prompted me in this direction! eh tu? |

Hi, newbie to the Freelander community here. Just purchased an 08 HSE in Stornoway Grey I was on the lookout for an SUV/4x4 and it was a toss up between the LR or a RAV4 (having owned a RAV4 previously I knew what I was getting) but the minute I sat in the Freelander I was sold.

Hello all, I'm waiting to take delivery of my new(ish) Freelander 2. Its a 57plate TD4 HSE in Baltic Blue. Being a Land rover mechanic I thought I'd try my hand at ownership too, having owned a few Shoguns over the years. Hoping to be of use on here and hopefully have trouble free ownership , oh I'm Andrew by the way |

Hello everyone. Am collecting my 2013 ex demo SD4 XS tomorrow afternoon. I have been running a TD5 Discovery for the past 8 years, but after 240k miles the poor old girl is just not up to being an "everyday" car. I thought I would be getting another discovery but asked for a FL test drive "just in case" and was really impressed, so really looking forward to getting the new car |

Hi all, new member and hopefully a future Freelander 2 owner. Looking to change cars this summer and already narrowed it down, just need to find the right car. I've been reading the forum for the last few weeks and this has swayed me towards LR. Must say this is the 1st owners forum I have read where everyone seems helpful. Off now to try out the help function so I don't have to ask too many silly questions. |
