Brand new owner

Just bought my first land rover! I am near Salisbury plain so looking forward to getting it muddy. I look forward to gaining info from the forums and maybe share some of my free lander experiences

Scotland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Stornoway Grey

Hi all

New member here, just bought an '07 XS, Stornoway Grey with Alpaca interior. Loving it already, totally different driving style from the Focus i had before, much more relaxed.

33mpg from the limited driving done so far, better in town strangely enough.

Have a problem
with my two year old FL2 TD4? At around 50mph transmission noise is becomes quite intrusive, I have taken to the dealer who can't find anything wrong!! but it weren't there when I bought it.

Have you an idea where the whine is, front? Back? Wheels?
There are so many things on our cars that can cause a whine, tyre tread is a common source, as is the rear diff, narrow it down and we can point you to some threads for help, Thumbs Up

Scotland 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Fuji White
It is nice to join your Forum

Hi,
I am from the dark side - had a Tiguan Summit, it was good!
The Freelander SD4 HSE I have recently bought is much better!

Owned a Discovery2 sometime back - Freelander is much, much better than that!

On runs up to Aberdeen can regularly get 40+ mpg, but that is when I drive like Aunty Mabel!

found the accelerator on last trip, the pick-up from 70 to 90 is very quick.... Impressed!

I restore classic cars as a hobby (when I get the time), so will hopefully be able to provide input to the forum. 'There is thunder' then 'There is the warble of a V8'

SD4 HSE Fuji White (my car): sidesteps, door protection
Golf 2.0 tdi White (wife's car)
Triumph Stag (my 1975 V8 toy - 37,600 miles... Just started its 2nd restoration... had it since 1986)

Tiguan Summit (gone, but nice car)
Porsche Boxster (gone, it was too fast)
SLK (gone, did not like it - lost loads £s)
Discovery Cairngorm (gone,very tractor like)
+ loads of other cars

England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Firenze Red

Hi all

West Essex and new to forum & new to Land Rover - had Honda CRVs since they launched in the UK. I have a MY10 XS auto with full heated ebony leather, privacy glass, climate & clearview packs etc. Originally set out for an HSE but quite by chance, found a well specced, well priced nice XS instead at a nearby LR dealer.

Had detachable LR towbar & LR 13 pin electrics dealer fitted along with carpet mats and we love the car thus far. Drives well, tows well and looks good even in "as delivered" condition.

Only modest loose fit additions planned right now like rubber mats / boot tray / seat covers (we have a little mud plugging dog Smile but a console slidey lid / cover thing and rear passenger map light are on the list with mud flaps and a clear 3rd brake light.

Beyond that... who knows Very Happy
