44,000 miles on my original Goodyear Wranglers - by far the longest lasting tyres on any car I have owned and a great all season tyre - so have given her a pressie of a new set of the same.

OEM Continental 4x4 Contact's down to 2mm at 25600 miles. Just been changed for 3 brand new and the unused spare, keeping best of the old as the spare. Good deal from HiQ on new ones. |

mine are looking thin on 11000miles, probably around 4-5mm I'd say on the front with wrangers on. No doubt when it's due for a service the dealer will try to screw me over for some Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual MY11 - 61REG Stratstone Mayfair Sumatra black, cloth, DAB Radio, Park Distance Control Front, Privacy Glass, 17" Full Size Spare Wheel. Aftermarket: Mudflaps |

Any one here carried a 5 wheel tire rotation, I was thinking of doing a 5 wheel rotate every 5000 kls to average out wear and keep all tires about the same diameter. I read an article lately that suggest this was good practice particularly if all road tires are well down and you install the unused spare on the vehicle which could be a much larger diameter, the article suggest this was not good for the drive line. |

Dont know if it applies to your tyres but of youre moving your tyres around check to see if they are the directional type as if so they need to be fitted so they are rotating in the correct direction as indicated on the tyre wall.

Most cars are now supplied without a spare, and those that have one tend to have the steel wheel, which may have a different size tyre (yes, it's legal!). Personally, I regard my spare as "just in case", so I keep an old but legal tyre on it. A short bit of driving until I get the main tyre repaired shouldn't make any difference to the transmission.

No 5 wheel rotation here but I notice that my spare tyre is getting on a bit.

I still have the 16" wheels fitted. On target to get 14k out of the front & backs. 215/75 16's. Conti's 4x4. So I think very poor. Will go for wranglers next, only choice I have with 16" wheels That's if I have not upgraded my wheels by then. Landy has now gone. |

50,000 kms on the first set of Wrangler HT's, 85,000kms on the second set which were Yokohama Geolander ATS and currently on 60,000kms on the 3rd set which are Maxxis Bravo AT700 and probably 80% worn. The AT tyres last a lot longer as does a slightly bigger size. |
