United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Baltic Blue

I fitted a set of BF Goodridge All Terrains at about 23k. I'm now on 60k and the tyres are just about one third worn.

I used BFG on my previous Discos and these legendary tyres just keep going. There is a slight noise penalty from the chunky treads but tarmac grip is surprisingly good and their performance in mud and snow is terrific.

Mind, I've only ever seen one other Freelander on all terrain tyres.

42000-ish on OE Continentals. Put on the unused spare and bought 3 to match putting the best original as spare. BIt of an issue finding 108V rating to be the same all round but Ripon LR was the best buy (how about that!) Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red
Gone... 2008 (09MY) XS Td4 Manual Stornaway Grey
Prior... 2003 G4 Discovery 2, 1998 Disco 1 and 1997 Disco 1 Company car before that
Also gone in Nov'13, after 7.5 yrs, to new owners with time for more TLC - 1980 Series III 88

I got 32000mile on my Wranglers and then bought Yokohama Geolander ATR's, I got 65000miles then sold it in Jan, it still had life left. The contis on my new LR2 wears quite fast.

At 32,000 miles off the original Goodyear wranglers. Still have 4 mm left all round. So should do 40k.
Very Happy

Went to my local independent trye dealer as i'm thinking of changing.
They said Mich's last for ages once the initial wear has gone. Wouldn't be suprised if they lasted for another 32k!

Got 50,000 KM on my Latitudes. Just put on GO 72 Yokohama Geolanders for the winter on my 19" stock rims. These (winter radials) are simply awesome for winter driving over the Latitudes. If you are looking for winter radials these things rock. Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Santorini Black

35,000 miles on original Wranglers, with around 2-3mm of tread left. I changed them because they were starting to aquaplane on the motorway. I'm now on General Grabber UHPs, 5,000 miles & haven't noticed any wear, and brilliant in the wet. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

I got 34,000 miles out of the fronts and have just replaced rears at 46,000 - Goodyear Wranglers on 18in rims and guess what they were replaced with!
Drive a lot of motorway miles at steady pace and don't career around corners on the A roads any more as I have grown up.
I believe it is primarily your driving style that dictates the miles you will get from tyres, brake pads etc. if you drive like an idiot then it will cost you one way or another. Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

My original set of Continentals (17" rims) lasted for 25,000 miles before reaching 2mm. All 4 tyres wore down at exactly the same rate.

Replaced first set at 34k; bought 3 new Conti 4x4 Contact and put on the new spare keeping the best part-worn in the back. I've been happy with them in the dry, wet and snow.

Had a screw in a bad place a little while ago so fitted 2 new rears that were quite worn and had "stepping" in them making a whine (see separate post about axle noises!). Now just over 75k and MOT says fronts down below 3 with one spot close to the wear bar.

LR dealer and independent tyre specialist are both quoting 140 each for Conti 108V. Anybody found them cheaper? Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red

My Conti 4x4 Contact 108V's have about 3mm left at 33k. (previous set changed at 34K with about 2-3 mm left. Now saving up for a new set and thinking of trying Wrangler 108V's. I assume that for towing a white box, the 108 load rating should give a bit less roll on the tyres and feel more stable than 104's. However, I'm sure somebody will be happy to tell me something different. Incidentally, mine were charged with nitrogen at fitting and I find that the pressure in all tyres has stayed pretty much the same over the last couple of years and never more than 0.5 psi between tyres.

Got 52000KM's [31250 miles] on my 1st set of Continentals.
Have now done 30000km's [20000 miles] on a set of Perelli Scorpions ATR and the wear is down by 35%. Seems possible to get to 75000 plus km's. Driving on mixed surfaces. Very good traction on dry, wet and gravel. Braking good all round but have been a bit dissapointed on very fine loose sand. Will definately get another set. Some folk warned against them quoting poor milage. I am very happy with them.
