The closest I get is pressing the 'Prog' button in the mornings which turns on the Air Con. |

Surely the compressor comes on whatever the temperarture setting (assuming the fan is switched on and you are not in econ mode)? I thought that was how you got hot DRY air to prevent the screens from misting up? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

The system works it's hardest when the temp switch is turned down Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice. |

But as long as the compressor is turning everything over it should be fine, your only doing it to stop the seals drying out. I'm with Steve D on this, you don't need to work the compressor hard. |

that's what I thought, no need to have the temperature right down low to lubricate the seals etc ? Iain |

Some members dont use the air con all the time though, I remember someone from Yorkshire didn't when attempting to improve his mpg, he even tried folding his mirrors in an attempt to get above 27mpg |

Leave the AC on all the time. It will keep the system lubricated and working efficiently. My mate is a uk tech advisor for a car manufacturer. Top advice. Minimal saving in mpg. Buy a Clio if you want to do 60mpg * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.
