Hi,

Waiting to pick up our first Land Rover, only hold up is the poxy DVLC time to transfer the personal reg. Car will have all the bits we want except maybe mud flaps, so, bearing in mind it will be used 95%+ on road, are they worth having?

Main motivation is our old Suzuki GV had them fitted, and dirt/spray in wet weather was almost existent, it stayed amazingly clean! As I'm chief car washer and wife is chief car dirtier its an important decision;-)

Personally I would get them. My FL2 is black and doesn't have them at the moment but I am planning on getting some soon and it get filthy at the back.

They probably help a bit, but mine has them and still gets filthy at the back.

Definitely recommend fitting them, they do help in keeping some of the road grim off the paintwork

Yes, I Guess nothing will keep the barn door at the back clean , but its good to know that it makes a worthwhile difference along the wings/doors..... every little helps i guess, shame Tesco's dont sell /em

Definitely, you don't notice a difference when it's a wet road, the spray just goes everywhere, but you don't get the thick claggy mud up the sides from driving in a gutter or along smaller roads, following a tractor etc. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

I would they even make the freelander look better from the backend gives it a squarer wider look but the back end will get plastered in muck any way just seems to suck it in

I have this without having mudflaps fitted! It's a feature I'd prefer the car not to have.

Has anyone done any offroading with mud flaps fitted? I have been thinking about adding some on mine to keep the spray down while on road, but am worried knowing my luck that the will be off the first time I even go slightly off road.. Freelander 2, 2014 Dynamic SD4 Santorini Black

I fitted mud flaps to my car to try to minimize the amount of mess up the sides, and it does seem to have helped. I also think the car looks much better with mud flaps on.

However, why it's not possible to design a car that can't have it's own, official, accessories fitted without having to hack pieces off said car is beyond me.
