You need sensors there is one on eBay When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |

They're still illegal to fit whether you have headlight levellers or not as the contravene the cars type approval.

Perversely, being illegal has never been anything to do with MOT regulations - that comes under the construction and use regulations or some other regs. MOT testers are always told on training courses that they are just there to apply the MOT rules, not uphold the law. For example, sharp edges on a vehicle likely to cause injury to a pedestrian are a fail.......but ONLY if they are caused by accident damage or corrosion. You could cover your car with broken glass and razor blades and it would not be a MOT fail. It would be nick though!

Well, firstly , a diesel engine doesn't have an emissions check, it has just a smoke test. You can only fail a vehicle that has the cat missing if it was originally fitted with one. There is no RfR for a missing DPF though so again, no RfR = no fail. The dpf wouldn't have any effect on smoke output though so as long as the car will pass the smokemeter test, it's a pass. I was going to fit a de-cat pipe but the MOT man would pull me up. But wait, I AM the MOT man! |

I have Xenons retro-fitted by Stratstones, and they do NOT have the self-levelling system. I queried this when I took delivery, and they assured me that it would not affect the MOT. Foraging near Gaydon....

They are correct then, the HID retrofit will not fail the MOT.
